Greetings Coaches,

We know there have been a lot of questions regarding playoff seeding and structures for our LAUSD Spring 25 Rocket League tournament. This coming Monday (3/17) will be the final week of regular season play, and all three queue times will be available for make-up opportunities.

After careful consideration and discussion, the following numbers and information regarding the high school and middle school tournaments has been made official:

High School:

  • All 31 teams will make the playoffs

  • #1 seed will have a bye week round one

    • Rounds one and two will be played on Monday, March 24th.

    • Top 8 teams remaining will qualify for the in person tournament to be held at SOLA Beehive on Saturday, March 29th.

Middle School:

  • Top 32 teams will make the playoffs

    • Teams that do not finish the full 6 matches will be assigned losses by our tournament team.

  • This puts an emphasis on teams using those make up queues as much as possible.

    • If you’re in the top 32 with only 4 matches completed after make-up queues, there is no guarantee that you will stay in the top 32 after losses are assigned.

  • Rounds one and two will be played on Monday, March 24th.

    • Top 8 teams will advance to the in person event on Saturday, March 29th.

Seeding will take place Tuesday morning, the 18th and brackets and communication will be sent to coaches that same day!

Key Notes

During the playoffs, rosters will not have to utilize the queue system any longer. Matches will be generated through the bracketing. When kids login to the Generation Esports competition platform, they will see their match page under “today’s playtimes”. They can access the match page directly from there and communicate with the opponent to get matches created and played.

If your team wins, they will automatically advance to the next round on the bracket and the new match page will be displayed under “today’s playtimes.”

Playoff Start times and Dates Played:
The Middle School and High School Playoff date is scheduled for March 24th with the first two rounds being played on the same day. This will ensure kids and teachers have enough time to coordinate attending the in person matches on March 29th.

  • Middle School Playoffs:

    • Round 1 to be played at 3:30pm
