Principal's Message

San Pedro High School Parents/Guardians,

Together with our teachers, staff and the administration, we want to welcome our students and school community back to San Pedro High School for the 23-24 school year.  I hope all of our families had a fun summer where great experiences were had and lasting memories made.  San Pedro High School is ready to welcome our students back to engage in meaningful learning experiences and continue to move toward reaching our goal of becoming college and career ready.  Our enthusiastic and committed teachers have been working during the summer in planning sessions, attending professional development, and getting our classrooms ready.  I am confident that together we will have a amazing school year.

With all the changes due to the closing of our Admin Building in July, we have been reviewing information, listening to feedback and learning how to continue to provide the great services our school has to offer.  It is evident to us that the culture of the school is centered around our students’ well-being and we value that.  Our work will continue to focus on the development of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) for our teachers, strengthening of our instructional programs, and ensuring that all of our students learn our essential standards and curriculum.  Every Tuesday this year, students will be dismiss at 2:38 PM for teachers to collaborate how to strengthen the SPHS programs.  Certainly, a safe and supportive school environment, as well as providing social-emotional support, is at the core of our work.

Our school will be stronger with the support of its community. We invite you to take advantage of the opportunities to support our students’ learning and experiences. I look forward to meeting you and working with you this academic year. The New LAUSD Mobile App 3.0 serves as a comprehensive mobile and web portal that facilitates communication and collaboration among students, families, and educators to promote better academic outcomes. With its user-friendly interface, the release of the upgraded App and web-based access enables families to access a range of student information through the Parent Portal menu, in addition to resources and online tools. This upgrade will assist parents to quickly, easily, and securely hold information right at their fingertips. https://www.lausd.org/cms/lib/CA01000043/Centricity/Domain/577/LAUSD%20Mobile%20App%20-%20-Parent.pdf
