Camp is here and starts Monday! I wanted to make sure everyone was up to date, please share relevant information with your team. I have some information that has changed since my last update, so please review the details below:
Currently Registered Students & Late Registration
Below I've attached a roster of currently registered students. Please check to see if all the debaters you expect to attend are there. We still have space for additional debaters, coaches, and volunteers to attend. If you have alumni that will be working with you next year, I encourage them to attend the coaches camp too. We're bringing back Toni Nielson who has been awesome at helping coaches of all experience levels.
Bus Schedule The bus schedule is attached below. Not all schools have pick-ups, but students can ride from whatever stop is most convenient. The schools with pick ups are:
Alliance Environmental Science High School
Bell High School
Bravo Medical Magnet High School
California Academy of Mathematics and Science
Downtown Magnets & Roybal LC
Elizabeth Learning Center
Harbor Teacher Prep Academy
Huntington Park High School
Lake Balboa College Prep
Legacy High School Complex
Lincoln High School
Port of Los Angeles High School
San Pedro High School - Olguin Campus
Location of Camp & Check-In LAMDL SDI will be held on the campus of The University of Southern California. Our room reservations are all in Taper Hall (THH) for the week, so registration and check-in will be at Taper Hall (THH). USC has been enforcing the guest passes less lately, but we will still distribute printed badges as students check-in. They will not need a pass to get on campus Monday. While I have a tentative list of lab assignments for students, some will be moved based on actual attendance on Monday. As a result, lab assignments will be distributed after check-in.
Dates & Updated Times of Camp Monday July 28th through Friday August 1st, 2025 8:30 AM - 5 PM, Instructional Days (ALL DAYS)
Additional Details and Updates Camp notifications and details will be made available and updated periodically on our website (lamdl.org/sdi) or through the LAMDL Discord (https://discord.gg/lamdldebate). That being said, coaches are our most direct line of communication with students. If you have a student, such as a team captain, that you will be delegating communication responsibilities to, please let me know who they are and the best way to communicate with them.
