As we approach the date, here are a few friendly reminders to ensure the event runs smoothly for graduates and their families:
Celebratory Elements: The school is responsible for providing the student’s cap and gown, tassels, diploma, and any cords, sashes, or any celebratory elements with graduates prior to the ceremony. You do not need to supply diploma covers.
Share important updates: Let us know of any changes in student attendance, or special accommodations.
Student Arrival Time: We kindly request that students arrive 1 hour before the ceremony to allow for rehearsal.
Principal and Director Arrival Time: We kindly request that principals and directors arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony. Please bring your gown.
🎓 Student Logistics: Graduation Day Reminder
No admission tickets required. Students simply line up with peers at the staging area and are admitted as directed by ceremony staff.
Flat or low‑heeled shoes are strongly advised, especially for navigating uneven ground, grass, and stairs.
🎓 Cap & Gown • Looking Sharp at the Ceremony Entrance
As soon as students receive their gown and cap, it is recommended that they hang them on a solid hanger (not a folding wire type). Hanging for 1–2 days greatly reduces wrinkles and draping look much more professional on stage.
🚗 Family & Guest Parking
Families typically park at or near:
182nd Street and Vermont Avenue (street-side, one block south of the student gate).
Parking lot on South Budlong Avenue (approximately 2 blocks west of the venue), accessible via Porter Ranch Gateway Transit Center.
Overflow street parking along Normandie Avenue near 183rd (check posted signs carefully).
