CONSTRUCTION UPDATE BULLETIN

Dear Parents, School Community and Neighbors,
Happy summer! The LAUSD, Facilities Services Division’s Community Relations Department is pleased to provide you an update on San Pedro High School’s ongoing Comprehensive Modernization Project, located at 1001 W. 15th St. in San Pedro. We’ve prepared this informational construction bulletin as a way to keep you “in the know” on the project’s development. There’s good news to share! By quarter three of this year, the school’s Administration and Band & Visual Arts Buildings, as well as the Senior Court are anticipated to be completed. Later this summer, new basketball courts are also scheduled to be installed at the Olguin campus, which will replace some of the existing courts previously impacted by the installation of temporary portable classroom buildings. We thank our parents,
community, and school administration for their support, patience and understanding as we push towards construction completion.

IMPACT NOTICE: INCREASE IN CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC

As part of the COMPREHENSIVE MODERNIZATION PROJECT underway at San Pedro High School, we will remove a sizable amount of soil off campus starting on Tuesday, June 11th thru June 25th 2024 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. We expect about 25-30 trucks per day, weather permitting. Truckloads of soil will be covered before they leave the campus. We will water down the dirt frequently to control dust from becoming airborne. Trucks will exit the campus via the Leland Street gate, travel along 17th Street to Gaffey Street, and then proceed to the freeway, following the same route for entry and exit.
