Local School Leadership Council (LSLC--formely SBM)

The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) was established in 1989 to ensure more collaboration around site-based decisions. All information on council rules and regulations is found in Article XXVII of the LAUSD-UTLA contractual agreement, and the San Pedro High's Local School Leadership Council by-laws. Our procedures are also guided by the Brown Act.

 

LSLC purview covers select budgets, School Activities/Bell Schedules, Professional Development, School Equipment, and Student Conduct/Behavior Support. Sub-committee meetings for each area of purview are conducted periodically throughout the year and are announced via the school website's events calendar. Membership consists of 16 members and is co-chaired by the Principal and UTLA chapter chair. Elections for parent/community representatives typically happy in Fall at Back to School Night. Notice will go out via the school website's events calendar when nominations/elections will be held.

 

LSLC is NOT the same as School Site Council which oversees Title I funding and the School Action Plan (click on SSC to the left of the screen to learn more!)

Agendas for upcoming meetings will be posted 3-5 working days before the next meeting. Minutes will be posted as soon as approved by council.
